"Oliver the Poet" an upcoming artist from Botswana was Pronounced the Winner of the Inaugural Season of the Africa Music Challenge Pan-Africa Music Talent show on Tuesday May 25th 2021 which was also Africa Day.
At the event, Head of Global Tours for Beyoncé, Allan Floyd said, "Africa is immensely talented in music, so artists should be willing to go out of their comfort zone and reach out to the international market and do collaborations with artists in other countries, something that will help them grow beyond their borders" The Top 5 finalists virtually performed their songs live to an audience that had judges and other artists from around Africa. The top 5 finalists were "Oliver The Poet" of Botswana, Michael George of Sierra Leone, Rea Rachael of Nigeria, David Golekwang from Botswana and Daniel Anthony from Nigeria.

The Africa Music Challenge team held its virtual zoom event over the weekend to reveal the Top 20 contestants for the Africa Theme Song Edition of the 2021 Africa Music Challenge.
The competition, which ran from February 15th till 31st March 2021, had over 400 submissions from artists around the African continent. Speaking at the unveiling, ASVG CEO Mr. Leslie Koroma Sr creator of the event said, "the competition is intended to provide opportunities for artists from all 55 African countries as they lock horns in head to head competition as they vie for supremacy”. He further highlighted that The Top 5 artists will be unveiled on the 8th of May. |
